Your Money Back Guarantee Still Stand :)

When the idea of a fund raiser was incepted, it was predominantly one involving guests paying for a night out with food and drinks provided. Sure, we would make some money, but to be honest, we didn't really expect too much.

For RM30.00, guests could come for a decent night out with people who share similar interests with food and drinks thrown in. For some, that was the amount that they would normally spend on dinner anyways, while for others, it was a little over their budget.

While we wanted to make it as accessible as possible to everyone, space was the limiting factor. It would have been great to make the entrance fee RM10.00, and get 1000 people in, but the Blog House could only accommodate between 100 to 150 people. So we decided, in order to break even and make some profit, to put the entrance fee at RM30.00.

Luckily for us, sponsors stepped in and lo and behold we could open our doors to everyone for free!

However, at that point of time people had already registered. Bummer. So, to be fair, we offer the opportunity for those paid their RM30.00 to (1) offer it as a donation to All Blogs, or (2) get a refund on the night itself.

For those of you who did not hear Tony's announcements during the night, please do know that this offer still stands. So, if you do want a refund, please do email your details (name as per registration and receipt number) to allblogs100days@gmail.com for a refund.

Don't forget to include your bank details (bank name and bank account number) as well, cause we won't know how to give it back otherwise. Thanks!

Thank You, Sponsors!

With the dust settled, we can all go around patting ourselves on the back for a job well done. People came, people mingled, people laughed, and people left, all happy. But the night would not have been as eventful as if was without our generous sponsors who helped make it all happen.

From Air Asia's travel voucher for 2 to Bali, to LG's phone giveaways, to the 3 days 2 nights stay at Genting and Ancasa, our sponsors helped to make the evening what it was. So to them, and the unsung organisations and individuals who donated (and wished to remain anonymous), where's a big thank you from us all!

Post Your Secret & Win

Four LG phones were given or auctioned last Saturday, and I must say I wished I was one of those lucky fellows who walked away with a brand spanking new LG phone. Sore losers that we all are, we clamored for another opportunity for freebies, and LG was kind enough to give us all another go at it.

So, if you want to stand a chance to win the latest 5MP built in camera, touchphone from LG, let me clue you in:

Write a posting on a secret and then send the link to that post (include you name and mobile number as well) to ihaveasecretlg@gmail.com between now and 5th of August 2008, and you might be lucky enough to walk away with LG's LG Secret KF750!

The only requirement is that you must have the word secret in the topic as well as the body of your post.

Don't ask me how much it retails for, but by the looks of that slick little thing above, it's expensive! So have a go! However, we're sorry to say that this contest is only exclusive to Malaysian bloggers.

Thank You To All For Coming!

Well, to say Saturday was an eventful night would be an understatement. The All Blogs 100 Days celebrations saw bloggers shaking hands and exclaiming “So, you’re that fellow!”, non-bloggers having fun, journalists putting down their pens and raising glasses, cameramen busy snapping photos of celebrities, and politicians from both sides of the political fence trading teases with one another.

Before I start, a huge thanks has to go out to our elected representatives for taking the time to drop by; YB Mukhriz Mahathir, YB Nurul Izzah, YB Jeff Ooi, YB Ronnie Liu and YB Loh Gwo-Burne and YB Wee Choo Keong.

Thanks must also go to the representatives from our sponsors; Air Asia’s chairman Dato’ Aziz Bakar and LG's product marketing manager Mr Kyung-San Park.

Also in attendance was Raja Petra Kamarudin and his vivacious wife, Marina Lee Abdullah, DiGi Communication’s Mr Robert Ho from, Suria FM’s CEO Engku Emran and Erra Fazira.

But, most importantly, thanks must go out to each and everyone of you who made time to join in the merriment. For those who didn’t come, but wished they did, fret not! Hopefully, some time in the foreseeable future, we’ll have another get together to swap jokes and snide political asides :)

All Blogs Talks...100 Days

The Alliance of Bloggers (All-Blogs) is organising a gathering of bloggers, journalists, politicians and friends on the evening of Saturday, 5 July 2008 to mark 100 days post the 12th General Election.

The gathering will be held at the Blog House at 66 Lorong Setiabestari 2, Bukit Damansara, KL, which is the headquarters of All-Blogs.

Since the setting up of the Alliance in April last year, we have held various events there, including an interfaith prayers session for the health of the former Prime Minister, the launch of the Bangsa Malaysia initiative, the Deklarasi Rakyat initiative, and various gatherings and forums involving bloggers.

Since the General Election on March 8, the All-Blogs has established a closer rapport with various parties, including the Government.

This is evident in the more blogger-friendly attitude on the part of the various ministries, especially the Information Ministry. In fact, our bloggers have been invited to RTM's Blog program and Bersemuka Bersama Media, both prime-time programs involving Cabinet Ministers and the mainstream media.

To help All-Blogs organize its activities and further promote blogging in Malaysia, we take the opportunity of the July 5th event to raise funds for the Alliance.
